Rights & Content Removal

Ruin Atlas / Relic Archive documents ruins, surviving structures and related artistic practices. Some records are contributed by visitors. Information reflects what could be established at the time of editing; ownership, access and safety conditions may change. Inclusion in the archive does not imply permission to enter a site.

00 Nature of the Archive

Ruin Atlas / Relic Archive is an ongoing personal archival practice. Maintained on a non-commercial basis, the website gathers and presents observations, images, writing and artistic research concerning ruins and surviving structures across different places. It is not intended as advertising, publicity or an endorsement of any site or institution. The selection and arrangement of materials reflect the archivist's own perspective. Even when they concern actual places, these records do not claim to offer an exhaustive or authoritative account of their history, ownership, present condition or significance.

The archive aims to invite reflection on architecture, landscape, ruins and memory, without prescribing a conclusion. Readers are welcome to bring their own knowledge and experience to the material, and to arrive at interpretations different from those offered here. We call this continuing practice of collecting, revisiting and re-reading archival exploration. Non-commercial presentation does not alter the rights held in the works and materials shown; any separate print publication or other reuse calls for its own consideration of applicable rights and permissions.

01 What you may request

If you are a copyright holder, a person depicted, a site manager or another legitimately affected party, you may request correction, redaction, restricted access or removal of photographs, videos, text, identifying details or precise locations that may infringe your rights, expose sensitive information or contain material errors.

02 What to include

Please provide the page URL, record or media title, the specific content at issue, an explanation and a way to reach you. We request only information reasonably necessary to assess a report; supporting identity or ownership evidence should, where possible, be exchanged privately.

03 How reports are handled

The site administrator will assess the request and take appropriate action without undue delay. Where urgent privacy or safety concerns arise, content may be temporarily hidden during review. For visitor submissions, the contributor may be consulted where appropriate. A request does not necessarily mean automatic removal.

04 Copyright and visits

Rights in photographs, films and other works remain with their respective lawful holders. Do not reuse protected materials without authorization, except where the law permits. Do not trespass upon private, closed or dangerous sites.

05 Current reporting route

A public GitHub issue form is currently available for reporting specific pages. Reports are visible to the public and may require a GitHub account. Never post ID documents, private addresses or other sensitive details in an issue. A dedicated private contact channel has not yet been confirmed by the administrator.

This is a temporary public reporting route, not a confidential legal-notice inbox. For sensitive matters, initially include only the page link and requested action.
